OptiLink DSA provides optical storage and retrieval for Informix's OnLine/Optical Dynamic Server. OptiLink DSA interfaces with Informix's Optical Application Programming Interface extending the storage capabilities of Informix's BYTE and TEXT data types from magnetic storage to optical sub-system storage, OptiLink. The application can continue to store and retrieve Binary Large Objects (BLOBs) without any code changes or knowledge that the BLOB data is stored on optical media. OptiLink handles all platter movement and faulting of volumes for reading and writing thereby providing the user with transparent access to the optical media..
